Centre was established after the reorganization of Information Systems Research Laboratory and Databases Design of Department of Information Systems.

There are five active research laboratories at the Centre:

  • Laboratory of Business Process Management.

Participation in research projects

European Structural Funds projects:

1. Integration of business processes and business rules on the base of business semantics (VEPSEM). The goal of the project is to improve alignment of business and it supporting information technologies by creating means for integrated modelling of business processes and business rules in CASE tools. Partner: No Magic Europe. Carried out: 2013-01-17 - 2015-04-30.

2. Syntactic-semantic analysis and search system for Lithuanian Internet, corpus and public sector applications (SEMANTIKA-LT). The goal of the project is to retain the Lithuanian language and to make it available on the Semantic Web by creating a framework for syntactic-semantic analysis and search. Partner: Vytautas Magnus University. Carried out: 2012-05-09 - 2015-04-30.

3. Thematic Network of Knowledge about innovative language, semantic and business modelling technologies (INOTEMA). The main solution of the project is based on Topic Maps technologies, which are used to develop thematic network and portal about various aspects of innovations, including research organization and consulting. Partner: Kaunas Science and Technology Park. Carried out: 2009-10-01 - 2013-03-19.

International projects:

1. Academic network "Methodologies for Interactive Networked Enterprises" (MINE). The aim of the network are to unify forces on critical targets for Information System researches in co-evolving environment of Semantic Web and Enterprises. Because of great variety of methods, tools and researchers profiles involved in this field, two main problems are lack of integration of different methodologies and tools, and poor collaboration between different expertise groups. Partners: Aalborg University, University of Agder, University of Gdansk, University of Skövde, Jönköping University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of Tampere. Outsoursing projects of Lithuanian companies and institutions:

1. The development of the ontology-based programming prototype for consulting knowledge base. Carried out: 2010-09-01 - 2011-11-30.

2. The development of the ontology-based model for automobile business management system. The main goal of this project was to analyze the generic ontology of business management systems with the purpose of defining the core concepts of automobile business management system as well as the contexts where such system could be applied. Client: JSC „New Vision Baltija”. Carried out: 2010-09-01 - 2011-11-30.
