Institute of Architecture and Construction was established in 1956, it was connected to the Kaunas University of Technology in 2010. Institute's mission is a high-level architecture, landscaping and civil engineering research and experimental development, participation in the study process, helping to ensure the needs of society and the state's sustainable science, economics and culture.

Infrastructure

Spatial planning center has CAD and GIS software, graphics printing technique.

Composite materials and finishing laboratory have QUV chamber Spray, Q-FOG camera, the device for finishes wet scrub resistance and cleanability detection, device for coatings wear testing; mortars and concretes water permeability measurement stand, atomic force microscope "Dualscope", thermal analysis instruments DSC 1600 PT LINSEIS, flame photometer ATS 200S, cooling incubators RUMED 3301; differential thermal analyzer HDSC / DTA PT1600 , presses up to 300 tons, up to 50 tons to 10 tons and up to 5 tons.

Building Physics laboratory has an automated equipment for windows and doors to determine the heat transfer coefficient using "Hot box" method, test ring for water and air resistance, wind load determination; equipment for determination the coefficient of thermal conductivity; stand for windows and doors resistance to repeated opening and closing; windows and door sound insulation measurement chamber; durability test chamber for galls units; tand for mechanical strength of the door, door equipment resistance to soft and heavy body impact set;  the climatic chamber ; system for dynamic stiffness determination, equipment for strength measurers CONTROLS (16kN); gas leakage detection device (chromatograph) AGILENT 7890; infrared camera " FLIR SYSTEMS - ThermaCAM B640; Meteorological Station DAVIS Vantage Pro2, building tightness test equipment kit INFILTEC E-3.
