Institutes

KTU traditionally engages in research of physical, technological and social sciences, and experimental development, while research of biomedical sciences and humanities is also promoted.

  • Biomedical Engineering Institute was founded in 1999 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Food Institute was founded in 1958 as an affiliate of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute.
  • Health Telematics Science Institute was founded in 2015 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Institute of Architecture and Construction was founded in 1956 as an affiliate of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute.
  • Institute of Defence Technologies was founded in 2000 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Institute of Environmental Engineering was founded in 1991 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Institute of Materials Science was founded in 1994 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Institute of Mechatronics was founded in 2014 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Institute of Metrology was founded in 1995 as an affiliate of Kaunas University of Technology.
  • Prof. Kazimieras Baršauskas Ultrasound Research Institute was founded in 1960 as an affiliate of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute.
