Knowledge and Its Application

A1Have the knowledge and understanding of the phenomena, basic concepts, fundamental laws and their experimental and theoretical base from major areas of physics (Classical, Relativistic and Quantum Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Statistical Physics and Thermodynamics, Optics) and the ability to apply them to the solution of theoretical and practical problems;
A2Have the knowledge on fundamental laws, the ability to apply them in specific areas of physics (Atomic, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics, Solid State Physics, Surface Phenomena Physics, Materials Science);
A3Have the knowledge on mathematical methods used for the simulation and analyze of physical processes and have the ability to apply them in study and professional activities; Have the knowledge on qualitative and quantitative physical analysis methods and used it.
A4Have the knowledge on numerical methods, the problems of approximation; have the ability to apply information technologies solving physical tasks; Have the knowledge on physical terminology and measurement units;
A5Have the ability to determine new problems, to analyse them theoretically and to plan strategy of solutions;
A6Have the knowledge of high technologies basic and demonstrate the understanding of their development tendencies;
A7Have the knowledge and understanding of modern physics achievements and problems.

Research Skills

B1Have the ability to observe physical processes, to formulate the purpose and tasks of research, to use apparatus to acquire experimental data, and to work using analytical equipment;
B2Have the ability to use appropriate methods of applied and fundamental investigations, and to evaluate their accuracy;
B3Have the ability to use of information technologies and resourse, have the ability to evaluate results of measurements mathematically, to analyse, to summarize them;
B4Have the ability to apply physical theoretical knowledge in research and to analyse the results, have the ability to relate experimental results with theoretical methos;
B5Have the ability to reasonably summarize and explain the results of research, formulate conclusions and make recommendations;
B6Have the ability to perform scientific literature search , analyze scientific information and literature.

Subject–Specific Skills

C1Have the ability to handle safely in the interactive physics and scientific laboratories in accordance with safety requirements;
C2Have the ability to choose and apply relevant physical methods for the solution of practical problems using physical measurement equipment and devices;
C3Have the ability to solve quantitative and qualitative tasks, to interpret observations and results of physical experiments, to think logically and analytically;
C4Have the ability to apply analytic and numerical calculus with evaluation of errors, order-of-magnitude estimation, and to correct presentation of units and data, Have the ability to process research data using information technology;
C5Have the ability to formulate the relevant specialty practice problem, to plan, to design activity progress and to control the performance of the work, and the material resources.

Social Skills

D1Have the ability to present and transmit knowledge and results of experiment or test to the specialist and non -specialist audiences in correct Lithuanian language (both oral and written) and the selected foreign language (both oral and written);
D2Have the ability to work alone and in an interdisciplinary team, to generate new ideas, to communicate, to participate in discussions, to cooperate with a view to common goals, and to insight into the arguments;
D3Have the ability to estimate information critically, their own activity results, to make decisions and to assess the social consequences, to improve practical skills;
D4Have the ability to organize and ensure safe work environment, to assess the influence of their activity results on economic and cultural development and social environment;
